Christmas at Portesbery

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we step into the festive season, we are delighted to share the key dates and celebrations taking place in school in the run-up to Christmas. This is always a magical and joyful time for our children, filled with sparkle and creativity. We hope the information below helps you plan ahead and join us in making this Christmas truly special for our school community.

Christmas Fayre – Sunday 30th November

Join us for an afternoon of festive fun, treats and Christmas cheer at our annual Christmas Fair. Bring the whole family to enjoy the warm, seasonal atmosphere.

Reindeer Run – Wednesday 10th December

Primary pupils will complete their walk between 10:00–11:00, followed by Secondary from 11:00–12:00. You are warmly invited to join your child on their wintry walk and enjoy a mince pie afterwards. Festive refreshments will be available throughout the morning as each department takes part.

Christmas Jumper Day & Grotto – Thursday 11th December

Pupils are invited to wear their brightest, sparkliest Christmas jumpers or festive outfits. Some classes will also have the magical opportunity to visit Father Christmas in his mobile grotto here at Portesbery, while others have planned their own seasonal activities.

Secondary Carols – Tuesday 16th December

The Secondary Department will be sharing the joy of Christmas through a special carol performance. More details will follow, but we look forward to welcoming you for this heart-warming event.

Christmas Lunch – Wednesday 17th December

Our much-loved Festive Favourite Christmas Lunch will be served—always a highlight of the season and another great opportunity to wear those festive outfits again! Further information will be shared shortly.

Primary Showcase – Thursday 18th December

Please join us for a festive activity followed by the Primary Department’s Christmas performance. We look forward to celebrating the children’s creativity and Christmas spirit with you.

Friday 19th December – End of Term

We finish the term with an early close as we begin our Christmas break.
